Community Engagement in Bocas del Toro
Through my work at SFS, my involvement as a member of the Bocas Hope Spot, and personal initiatives, I have created educational materials about the marine life of Bocas del Toro and have given presentations to various groups throughout the archipelago.
Some of the community projects and presentations I have completed in the past include:

Giving presentations to community youth groups (Women of the Ocean, Give and Surf)

Writing a Coral ID guide that was presented to IBPNM park guards and distributed to dive shops

Creating the La Vida Marina de Bocas del Toro coloring book, distributed so far to 500+ children
As regulations allow, I hope to return to offering educational programs that combine on-land learning with activities like snorkels. If you are working with a group in the community and would like to collaborate on an education initiative, please get in touch. In addition, if you are interested in supporting these programs, any donations will go towards printing coloring books or other educational materials, purchasing supplies (coloring pencils, snorkel gear), or boat / transport costs to take groups out on the water.
